Our Story

During the summer I pitched a rough idea to Cinematographer Laurence Richards during a handful of drunken conversations at a few festivals. Having worked with Laurence before, I knew he would bring the ability to execute the contradicting styles of the film as well as bringing an energetic commitment to the shoot.

Before the beginning of our final year I pitched the still underdeveloped idea to Samantha who then agreed to produce the film. With her knowledge of her colleagues around her, Samantha brought in Sam Cooney to work with me on the script in order to condense it down from a rough 30-minute short film idea to a tight 10-minute short.

Whilst we were still in the development stage we brought in Josie Kealy as Art Director; she has the task of communicating the different styles of the film through her design of sets and can really get her teeth into it when it comes to the experimental section. Jimmy Keeping soon joined our grew as sound recorder and mixer. He has one of the most important jobs and will have the task of creating three different sound designs to communicate the change in audio style in the film.

After a little more development as we entered the pre-production stage we completed our crew that consisted of all third year students and one industry professional in Ben Wilson, Ben has agreed to supervise me through the post-production stage of the project having recently worked extensively as an editor in the industry, see his showreel here and IMDB profile here.

When the edit is complete I will hand it over to Jodie Sales who will be working on the colour correction, fine tweaking the video to match the three styles. Jodie has been developing a post-production show-reel. See some of her work here.
